Rhian

For the past twenty years I have worked as a London based portrait and reportage photographer.  Based in London working for magazines and newspapers and across Africa for charities.

It was quite by chance, while on a photoshoot at a location house in London a few years ago, that I used the model’s dog as a stand in to check my lights while the model was getting ready. That evening when editing the days shoot I came across the image of the model’s dog. It was looking so intensely at me, as if it was going to jump out of the picture and start talking!

From then on every shoot I went on, if they had a dog I would photograph it, just to see if I could get the same magic as the first dog… I did. I started photographing people’s dogs and putting them on cards as presents and, their popularity just grew.

I now have a commercial range of 50 greeting cards of all different breeds and, the range is growing.

I still get commissioned to photograph dogs on a daily basis and when I have time I also photograph the odd human.
